St. Tropez Shopping

(St. Tropez, Provence-Alpes Cote d'Azur, France)

Picture of St. Tropez quayfront storesThe Saint Tropez beachfront is where the main shopping scene is located, since the very interior of the town is quite uninhabited and sparse. Whether you are looking for designer sunglasses, suntan lotion, colourful beachwear, or a pair of famous Saint Tropez strappy sandals, you won't have far to walk from the beach to find what you are searching for.

The shopping scene in Saint Tropez caters well for visitors with plenty of money to spend and the stylish shops can be quite tempting. There is no actual shopping street in Saint Tropez. Instead, shops are quite scattered around the coastline, the Quai Jean Jaurès, the Quai Suffren, and the historic Old Town area. During the summer season, many shops stay open until late, so it is quite possible to be trying on trendy clothes until well into the evening.

Where to Shop

The streets and arcades of the Old Town Saint Tropez are home to a good selection of shops and are overflowing with impressive fashion boutiques, which come in all shapes and sizes. Many visitors find the custom-made sandals at the Atelier Rondini cobblers on the Rue Georges Clémenceau quite irresistible.

The Rue Georges Clémenceau leads to the Place des Lices and the Place Carnot, both of which are close to the port and some good shopping opportunities, including a number of stores selling Provençal antiques and Saint Tropez souvenirs. As you pass through the Place des Lices, you may well be able to watch the locals playing a game of boules or simply relaxing.

Close by, a flower market also takes place on Tuesdays and Sundays on the Place aux Herbes. You will also find some interesting window shopping and cafes if you head down Saint Tropez's Rue de la Ponche, towards the Place du Revelin and its pretty beachfront.
